Mission Statement: Helping youth of the parish learn to live in God's image by entering more deeply into relationship with Him and consequently with one another.
“Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me." Matthew 18: 3-5
“By this power of the Spirit, God’s children can bear much fruit.” (CCC 736)
This youth group is a spiritual, social, and catechetical ministry.

I am a "lifer" here at St. Catherine's. I was born and raised in Quarryville, and to this day, St. Catherine's (the church and the community) is home to me. I have helped with 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade Sunday school as well as our summer VBS. While in high school, I attended St. Catherine's youth group, and seeds were planted through those experiences.
Those seeds were cultivated in the following years as I went to college and became involved in the Catholic Campus Ministry. After 2 years of college, I became a seminarian for our diocese, and I spent a year and a half in formation at Mount St. Mary's. I eventually discerned that God was calling me elsewhere. I returned to Millersville University, and received my bachelor's in technology and engineering education. I am so grateful for those who convinced me to take a course through the Theology of the Body Institute. While finishing up my undergad, I began taking TOB courses in the summer. I am now pursing a master's in theology through the TOB Institute. I fit courses in during the summer, because during the school year, I am teaching 6-8th graders at Resurrection Catholic School.
I have volunteered with this youth group for years, but I have officially been the youth minister since 2019. Helping out with youth group has been one of the most life-giving experiences for me. The feedback I have heard from families and from the youth is how I know this is a fruitful ministry. Our youth group consists of teenagers from three different parishes! If you are interested in learning more about our youth group, please reach out to me or to the church's main office. We would love to have you join us regardless of whether that is for one meeting or for many!
